Week 1 post 3

This weeks learning really lit a spark in my mind because it opened a whole new door in my mind that deeply interests me. What I learned this week can relate to my previous GT Els seminar if I so desire and I really love that about these classes because it will teach me to be a more powerful, effective writer, about the things I am most passionate about. This week was really interesting because it taught me the fundamentals of both storytelling and journalism in a way I can realte to.
I had a couple questions regarding my work this week... Who do reporters go to for consistently factual evidence, if anyplace/body? Why is it that people do not believe facts even though they themselves should be able to tell their thought process is nonsensical? What about writing is so universally inspring?

  1. I wonder if storytelling journalists and journalists working for social change have different training in college or is it on the job training.

    1. I would think it was more up to the actual job and what is expected in that job. IN the journalism class they talk about how there are specific social change classes though.
