week 6 post 3
This week really hit home for me because it addressed something that I feel the media lacks sometimes, which is genuine authentic youth advocacy and involvement. More often then not I see news stories concerning issues that involve youth that does not actually address the children's actual opinions and they leave out the affected group. To me this is misleading and it lacks the power to really make a powerful change. My favorite media and stories involve the youth and empower them, rather than leaving them out of important discussions that concern them.
My question is what do other youths feel about this issue? To what extent does it actually hurt the youth to not involve them? How can we make a more cohesive relationship between the youth and media outlets?
