week 7 post 2

The Correlation between Health and education, specifically from a young age, is robust. Children who have the opportunity to attend preschool are more likely to succeed in a multitude of ways. They are more likely to graduate high school, less likely to be held back in school, more likely to get higher-level education, a higher-level job, and stay out of prison. The investment in preschool has a significant return on investment figure, close to $17 for every $1 invested initially. This is related to a variety of factors; however, it relates most strongly to education and Healthcare. Even by looking at the first three years of a child's life, the use of epidemiology can usually determine which diseases these children will experience. This is because, in more adverse communities, they have less access to good education and health care, which in turn leads to bad health. Health and education go hand-in-hand. They are a two-way street, continuing cycles that anchor people to poverty. Health is a prerequisite for education; if a child is hungry or has hearing or vision issues, their learning is hindered, and they might not ever be given aid for that. This does not even begin it to talk about the psychological damage of any of these children have experienced that will never get help for it. Health education is also a crucial role that academics have in children's lives.; children and more poor schools will not have as much health education and public health interventions, so they are left with a handful of issues. This not only relates to general health but also Sexual Health; these children are not as educated at about contraceptives and Sexual Health, which leads and turn to more teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Education also combines the importance of physical and mental well-being that these children might not otherwise have access to. So because of this, education as an essential element of health and education is a contributing cause of health. Education helps to engage the central nervous system and helps develop essential skills that are not just academic. The longer and more well-educated a person is, the less likely they are to have circulatory diseases, diabetes, liver disease, or psychological diseases. The contrast between more educated students who have all A's versus mainly failing students is astounding. Those with mainly A's are far more likely not to carry a weapon, use cigarettes, abuse alcohol, have sex, watch a lot of television, and are much more physically active. Children with mostly these and ass are the opposite of this.
The role that media has in this is that all of these things are related to public policy and Public Health, which means it is a discussion which the whole nation needs to have. Telling the truth and importance of education is not something that is discussed on the front page of any newspaper. Most people who grow up with a good education will never realize the privilege that they have because they will not understand how a simple thing like preschool set them ahead. By utilizing journalism, this issue can be discussed on a higher level with more people so that effective change may come about this. For example, David Karp wrote an article,  Life Way After Head Start, Where he brought light to the importance of preschool and support systems for young people, which had not really been discussed in a major news Outlet before. Because of this, his story had great success and reached many people. He brought light to the importance of preschool and due to that, in the past 15 years there has been great headway in the progress of access education. This is a prime example of the importance of media
